My paintings explore memory, consumer culture, identity, and resilience through imagined dystopian landscapes rooted in my hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Blending acrylic painting with photographic collage, I create fictional worlds where recognizable landmarks, forgotten childhood objects, and symbols of popular culture become fragments of a shared cultural memory. Influenced by surrealism, contemporary figurative painting, and the layered image-making of artists like Robert Rauschenberg, my work asks what remains of us after the systems, places, and possessions that shaped our lives begin to disappear. At their core, these paintings are about survival—not only of people, but of memory, place, and the stories we continue to carry long after the world around us has changed.
